If you want a cheap fat tire e-bike before Black Friday, three California direct-to-consumer brands keep coming up: Mokwheel, Happyrun and TST E-bike. Their sticker prices are far apart, and so are their return fees and warranty terms. A bike that's $400 cheaper can cost you more if it doesn't fit and has to go back.
We checked every fat-tire model's price on each store's own website on October 25, 2026, and read their shipping, refund and warranty pages. Below: the quick answer, a side-by-side table, what a return would cost on the cheapest model at each store, and who should pick which.
The quick answer
- Cheapest fat tire e-bike of the three: Happyrun Tank G60 at $599 (listed against $1,799). Happyrun also ships free to Canada and extends holiday returns to January 6.
- Best for moped-style bikes and local pickup: TST E-bike. The 1500W R002 is $799 (was $2,199) and the R7 $849. Southern California buyers can pick up and test ride in Ontario or Diamond Bar.
- Most mainstream lineup, smallest markdowns: Mokwheel. Its cheapest in-stock fat-tire bike is the Tor Plus at $1,199.99. Markdowns on its in-stock fat-tire bikes run 8% to 23%, not 50% or more, but the warranty is a flat 2 years and accessory packs are thrown in.
- Before you pay anywhere: all three charge for change-of-mind returns. On Happyrun's $599 bike, sending it back unused costs about $177, nearly 30% of the price.
Mokwheel is a California-based e-bike brand selling fat-tire, commuter and step-through electric bikes direct to U.S. riders, with free shipping, 0% financing and a 2-year warranty.

Happyrun sells budget-friendly fat-tire e-bikes, cargo e-bikes and electric dirt bikes direct from California, with free shipping to the U.S. and Canada, 0% APR financing and two-bike combo bundles.

Happyrun: deepest markdowns, biggest bikes
Happyrun's fat-tire collection is all big moped-style, cargo and full-suspension bikes, and every one of them is marked down by at least 36%:
- Tank G60: $599 (was $1,799), the lowest price of any fat-tire bike in this comparison.
- Tank G60 Pro: $1,099 (was $1,899).
- G70: $1,379 (was $2,299), and G70 Pro dual-motor cargo bike: $1,479 (was $2,699).
- G100 Pro: $2,099 (was $3,299).
- Two-bike combo: a pair of Tank G60s is $1,298 (was $3,598). That's $100 more than buying two singles at $599, so check the configuration in each listing before you assume the combo is cheaper.
Several Happyrun models list UL 2849 certification for the electrical system. More on current offers on our Happyrun coupon page.
TST E-bike: 1500W moped style under $1,000
TST's R-series is built around a long bench seat, fat tires and full suspension:
- R002 (20-inch, 1500W): $799 (was $2,199).
- R7 (1500W moped style): $849 (was $1,799); the R7 Cargo Edition is $949.
- R9 (long range, dual battery): $899 (was $1,399).
- Carrier (20-inch cargo): $999 (was $1,899).
- Combos: R002 pair $1,398 (was $4,398), R002 + R7 $1,548.
TST's FAQ lists top speeds of 23 to 32 mph depending on the model. That's faster than many local bike-path rules allow, so check before you buy one for a teenager. More on our TST E-bike coupon page.
Mokwheel: smaller discounts, wider range
Mokwheel's fat-tire bikes are priced higher and discounted less:
- Tor Plus: $1,199.99 (was $1,399.99), the cheapest fat-tire model in stock.
- Basalt 2.0: $1,599.99 (was $1,899.99). Mokwheel describes it as an all-terrain bike with a 1100W motor and solar charging.
- Scoria 2.0: $1,699.99 (was $1,999.99), and Obsidian: $1,699.99 (was $2,199.99).
- Obsidian 2.0: $2,099.99 (was $2,399.99).
- Onyx ST: $3,299.99 (was $3,599.99), a 1300W mid-drive, full-suspension step-through.
Two cheaper models, the Basalt ST at $1,099.99 and the Mesa Lite at $799.99, showed as sold out. Mokwheel's extras matter more than its markdowns: a free accessory pack with qualifying bikes and a free hitch rack when you buy two. More on our Mokwheel coupon page.
What does a return cost on the cheapest bike?
The return policy is where a cheap fat tire e-bike can stop being cheap. Using each store's own fee rules on its cheapest model, for an unused bike you send back because you changed your mind:
- Happyrun Tank G60 ($599): $150 shipping plus 4.5% ($27), about $177. If you've ridden it, the policy charges $150 plus a 20% restocking fee instead, about $270, close to half the price of the bike.
- TST R002 ($799): a 15% handling fee (about $120) plus return freight, which TST doesn't price in advance.
- Mokwheel Tor Plus ($1,199.99): $150 plus 5% ($60), about $210.
In other words, the cheaper the bike, the bigger the share a return eats. We compared the return rules of seven stores in our e-bike return policy guide.
Warranty: the "2-year" badges aren't the same
All three brands advertise a 2-year warranty, but the fine print differs:
- Happyrun: 2 years on the frame, 12 months on the motor, controller and battery, and 3 months on brakes, tires and lights.
- TST E-bike: 2 years on the frame, 1 year on the motor, battery, controller and charger, and 6 months on many small parts. Water damage and off-road impacts aren't covered.
- Mokwheel: advertises a 2-year warranty on every new bike. We didn't find a part-by-part breakdown on the pages we read, so ask before you buy if battery coverage matters to you.
The battery is the most expensive part to replace. Mokwheel's own store lists replacement batteries for its bikes at $499.99 to $599.99.
Which cheap fat tire e-bike should you buy?
- Lowest price, holiday gift: Happyrun Tank G60. Order after November 21 so the extended return window (to January 6) covers you.
- You live in Southern California: TST. Test ride and pick up in Ontario or Diamond Bar, which skips the 3-day damage-claim stress.
- You want a calmer, more conventional bike and fewer surprises: Mokwheel. You pay more up front, but the 15-day return window and flat 2-year warranty are easier to understand.
- You want easier mounting or carry a lot: look at the step-through and cargo versions first (Basalt ST 2.0, G70 Pro, R7, Carrier), then compare return costs.
Buy now or wait for Black Friday?
Black Friday is November 27, 2026 and Cyber Monday is November 30. Happyrun and TST already show 36% to 67% off, so a bigger drop isn't guaranteed. When we checked on October 22, Mokwheel's home page advertised a Black Friday Preview with 30-day price protection, which lowers the risk of buying early. If a model you want is close to selling out (two Mokwheel models already are), buying now is reasonable.
For everything that's already on sale, see our Black Friday e-bike and scooter deals roundup, the Black Friday page and all e-bike stores we cover.

- Confirm the price in the cart, including any combo or accessory discount.
